There was a time when Microsoft made all decisions regarding the development of its products entirely on its own. It was impossible—or only possible through roundabout means—to provide feedback or even submit requests for changes. However, those days are long gone!
Nowadays, Microsoft actively seeks feedback from customers, responds to user requests, and makes changes based on that input. Just look at the sheer number of changes and new features that are introduced every week in the Microsoft Cloud!
Accordingly, it only makes sense that part of the Windows Server Summit includes a session where attendees can provide feedback. This article covers the topics discussed as well as a special announcement.
Hotpatching in Windows Server
Based on user feedback, Microsoft has decided to make the new hotpatching feature available at no additional cost. The only requirement remains the use of Azure Arc. Hotpatching allows Windows operating systems to be updated while they are running, thereby reducing the number of required reboots.
